He has served in every aspect of Human Resources--from consultant to recruiter; from payroll manager to business partner: from project manager to Senior Manager.
His savvy for creating Human Resources programs that deliver, and the development of strategic initiative to support the City’s vision of a great place to work and employer of choice, have made him an exceptional leader.
Marcus’ experience runs the gamut from developing and implementing a mechanic apprenticeship for the Department of Transportation to producing award-winning employee recognition programs for employees that drive engagement.
He has led talent acquisition teams to deliver ready now talent pipelines, achieving a 94% success rate for quality of hire.

Recently, Marcus has taken his passion for Human Resources to the next level with HR Passions LLC where people and their passions intersect.
In addition to HR consulting services, Marcus is also developing an employee experience app in the gratitude science space soon to be available for organizations that are ready to drive business results through gratitude. The HR Passion Guy recently launched his first on-demand coaching series entitled "YOU: How to get closer to a 30, 60, 90 day offer and get paid for being YOU!"
Marcus also hosts the “Love and Stuff” weekly Facebook Live community platform each Tuesday at 8:30 PM EST, and "Passion Fridays" on LinkedIn Live on Fridays at 12 PM EST.
Marcus holds a bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree from Davenport University and is certified in Human Resources by both the Society of Human Resources Management and the Human Resources Certification Institute.
He is a native Detroiter and some of his other passions are music; spending time with family, especially his niece/daughter Autumn; and working with young people.
His mantra is “Live in the center of your passion and there you will find much success.”
